Social media. At times, the term yields polar opposite reactions. It's a love/distain type of relationship. However, as I'm well aware, it's here to stay. I consider myself to be a somewhat private individual. Two things I hold close to the vest are my children's image and my whereabouts. One day my children will be adolescents and then adults. I don't feel it's for me to establish their social media presence, especially from birth. Furthermore, I value going on vacations or brief getaways without sharing the play-by-play via social media...I mean did I go on vacation for me or to show others I did. Therefore, I post a simple singular or collage photograph upon return. *For the record, this is not judgement of people who share an opposite view.*
Snapchat is a social media beast I have yet to tackle. Still, Spectacles were all the rage over the holidays so I snagged a pair. These have been on my face twice. I was baffled about what to do with them so they sat on a shelf. I understand their purpose, share things throughout ones day with followers. Yet, I didn't see the value. Then the other day that little voice said, "Use them for me." I got immediate goosebumps. I can use these to show others what I believe is my calling as a doctor's wife. That calling and purpose is to bestow compassion, kindness, and generosity upon others. So, I have named these my Spectacles for Service. I hope to capture inspiring acts of kindness with the hope to encourage other to do the same with theirs. We live in a world where materialism and self continue to be the status quo. I'd like to deposit a little bit of selfless.
